Routing Objective

• If the local network is going to be very complex.
• We need better monitoring and maintenance the network.
• More secure because firewall filtering in every subnet, not all host in our network.
• Connecting between public IP / network.
• Connecting between Wide Area Networks ( Companies, Providers…etc.)

Routing

• Routing à Process to forward the packets from one network to another network using internetwork device ( router).
• Static routing  à  Administrator manually add the routing, define one by one every destination network and gateway in every touter that will be used.
• Dynamic routing àAdministrator need to do a few configuration ( activating dynamic routing protocol) in every router and then the router will automatically find the best gateway/best route for the connected networks.
